The Japanese philosophy of beauty in imperfection and impermanence — applied here only to pieces where the wear is genuine, not a finish applied to imitate it. This is a small edit, and deliberately a slow-growing one.
Most dealers use "wabi-sabi" as a caption. We use it as a filter. A piece earns a place here only if its wear is original — craquelure that accumulated over a century rather than a distressed finish applied last year — and only if the surface itself, not gilding or inlay, carries the piece's whole character.
