The Piece
A gilt side table — a guéridon in the Louis XVI manner — refined in scale, generous in detail, and equally at home as a lamp table, bedside table or sofa-end table. The warm dusty-rose marble top is a natural slab selected for its tonal quality, sitting above a carved gilt wood frame that retains its original patinated gilding.
The carving is fine and consistent — a rope-twist border running around the apron, turned and fluted legs, and a lower shelf tier. The original gilding shows the natural workshop marks of a craftsman's hand: evidence that distinguishes this piece from later reproductions.
At 73cm high and 51cm wide, this is a practical side table — a classic bout de canapé, equally suited as a lamp stand, a sculpture pedestal or a generous bedside surface. True classics never go out of fashion; a historical detail defines the character of a contemporary salon.

The top is a natural marble slab in a warm dusty-rose / powder pink colourway — a material choice that softens the gilded frame and creates a warmth unusual in neoclassical furniture.
The gilt wood frame retains its original gilding with natural patina. The craftsman workshop marks visible on the surface are evidence of hand manufacture — a feature valued by connoisseurs that distinguishes this piece from modern reproductions.
The apron carries a rope-twist carved border. The legs are turned and fluted in the neoclassical manner. The lower shelf provides a secondary display surface and adds visual weight to the lower register.
